The series "Science Mysteries" offers readers of 10 and up an exciting look at the world of inventions, technology and science. Each volume revolves around an important figure in the history of science, against whom a crime has been committed. The case is cleared up by young detectives – with the help of the reader, since, as usual in the Mysteries series, there are tricky puzzles to be solved at the end of every chapter. And along the way they learn a lot about the life, inventions and discoveries of the scientist concerned. As well as a time line, the appendix provides even more information and little experiments for readers to try out themselves. Science is made real for them in the process!

Joachim Krause was born in 1968 in Kempen and now lives in Jever with his wife and three children. He studied graphic design at the University of Applied Sciences in Münster and has been a freelance illustrator of games and children's books for various publishers since 1997.
