IT WAS THE HOUSE – HONESTLY
Dear Prince William!
I want to say how truly sorry I am. About the boxers. And about turning Buckingham Palace upside down. None of it was my fault! It was my house, again, honestly. Give your Granny a big hug for me and tell her not to worry about Monty II. He hasn’t been kidnapped at all. He’s fine and he’s very hungry. Please don’t be cross.
Respectfully yours,
Sunny Valentine
PS: My Dad has just seen the stuff I’ve been writing to you. He doesn’t think you will understand what I’m trying to say. I’d better start at the beginning, so that’s what I’m going to have a go at, now. OK?
Sunny Valentine and her family live in a very strange house. When His Honour (it insists on being addressed this way) is in a good mood, the curtains turn pink, banana milkshake flows from the taps, and it rains roses. But when it’s in a bad mood, your bed ends up in the tree-house, and there’s dust everywhere. All these strange things happen because the house is yearning for a flag. Not any old flag, no, it’s got to be the underwear of a young prince. So that’s why Sunny finds herself catapulted into Buckingham Palace, where she starts looking for Prince William’s underpants. How on earth is she supposed to go about it?- A lively, charming concept – a house with a life of its own
